Flight Reservation for Thailand Visa: Choose Travel Evidence That Fits Your Trip

A Bangkok holiday, a university arrival and a move to join family in Thailand may all begin with a flight search. The documents supporting those journeys can be quite different. A tourist applicant may need an itinerary showing both entry and departure, while a long-stay applicant needs travel dates that make sense alongside an admission letter, employment approval or family documents.

A flight reservation for Thailand visa application is a genuine temporary airline booking showing the passenger, route, dates and booking reference. It can support an application where the responsible Thai mission accepts that reservation format. An unpaid reservation is different from an issued airline ticket.

The useful question is therefore more specific than “Can I get a flight reservation for Thailand visa application?” Ask what your Thai mission needs to see, which journeys your booking must cover and how long the airline record will remain active.

This guide helps you make those decisions before ordering. It explains tourist and visitor flight bookings in detail, connects the main Thai visa categories to practical travel plans, and covers applicants and customers in India, Russia, China, Morocco, Pakistan, Nigeria, the Philippines, the USA, Canada, the UK, Australia, the Schengen area and other countries worldwide.

Start with your passport, your purpose and your place of application

These three details settle much of the confusion around Thailand flight documents:

Detail What it determines Booking consequence
Passport or travel document Whether a visa exemption, visa on arrival or advance visa may apply Establish your entry route before paying for application documents.
Actual purpose and intended stay Whether your journey belongs under tourism, study, work, family or another category Match arrival and departure evidence to that purpose.
Current location and qualifying residence Which Thai embassy or consulate can consider the application Follow that mission’s document and jurisdiction instructions.

For example, an Indian citizen planning a short holiday and an Indian citizen taking a job in Thailand should not order documents on the assumption that both journeys use the same immigration route. A Pakistani passport holder living in Britain should check the rules for that passport and their UK residence, rather than using a British-citizen checklist.

Use the official Thai e-Visa portal to check your circumstances. The portal is an application system; an e-Visa is not a separate travel purpose. Select the category that describes what you will actually do. Applications made through the overseas e-Visa system must be made while the applicant is outside Thailand.

The September 2026 change matters before you reserve anything

Thailand’s former 60-day exemption for 93 countries and territories was revoked with effect from 15 September 2026. Replacement arrangements include a 30-day tourism exemption for 60 countries and territories, alongside other exemption and visa-on-arrival arrangements. Bilateral agreements also matter for some passports. Older articles and embassy pages describing the previous scheme can therefore be misleading. See the Thai government’s revision notice.

Indian, Philippine, US, Canadian, British and Australian ordinary passports appear on the replacement 30-day tourism list. China and Russia have relevant bilateral arrangements, discussed below. Eligibility still depends on the actual passport, purpose and current conditions; residence in an exempt country does not turn another passport into an exempt one.

A traveller who does not need a tourist visa may still need a clear departure plan for airline or immigration checks. Treat visa-application evidence and travel-day evidence as separate decisions.

Planning a holiday? Build the tourist itinerary around how you will leave Thailand

Tourist travel deserves particular care because a short visit usually has a defined beginning and end. The outward journey explains how you reach Thailand. The return or onward journey explains how the visit finishes. Together, they should agree with your accommodation, leave from work, available funds and intended activities.

A useful Thailand tourist visa flight reservation should make the trip understandable without requiring the reader to reconstruct missing connections or guess where you go after the final hotel night.

travel-documents-requirements-for-thailand-tourist-visa

A single-entry Tourist Visa: show one complete visit

For a conventional holiday under the Tourist Visa, commonly identified as TR, arrange travel evidence around the visit you intend to make. A return itinerary can suit a traveller going home after Bangkok and Phuket. An onward itinerary may suit someone continuing to another country, provided they can meet that destination’s entry conditions.

The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Chicago describes TR stays of up to 60 days and asks for flights into and out of Thailand, including the traveller’s name, dates, airports and flight number. Those published requirements are a useful example, but your own mission’s checklist controls your submission.

Avoid selecting the maximum possible stay merely because it exists. If your approved holiday leave covers twelve days, a twelve-day trip is easier to explain than an unrelated two-month reservation. If you genuinely intend a longer visit, support that plan through the rest of the application.

An itinerary should describe your expected travel honestly. A cheaper-looking routing is unhelpful if its connections, airport changes or total journey are impractical for you.

A Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa: explain the journeys between Thai visits

A Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa, often called METV or TR-METV, requires more thought when the holiday includes departures from Thailand followed by re-entry. Consider a journey from London to Bangkok, onward to another country, back to Thailand and finally home. The middle flights explain why multiple entries are relevant.

The Royal Thai Embassy in London’s METV guidance requests travel details covering the route from the applicant’s qualifying UK, Irish or UK-territory origin to Thailand and an onward destination. Other missions may ask for additional planned entries.

Map the actual trip before ordering. Identify each arrival in Thailand, each exit, and the final journey home. Ask the mission whether it needs the first visit or the complete proposed sequence. A six-month visa validity period does not mean one uninterrupted six-month tourist stay, and it does not make a reservation active for six months.

Visiting relatives or friends: align the flights with the host’s invitation

A short private visit can have the same practical travel pattern as a holiday: arrive, spend a limited period with the host and leave. The invitation and flight itinerary should describe compatible dates and the same intended visit.

If your host expects you in Chiang Mai but your international flight arrives in Bangkok, explain the onward domestic flight or other transfer. Do not let the travel record imply that you stay in Bangkok throughout.

Accommodation with family does not automatically call for a hotel booking. Use the host evidence accepted by the mission. For a longer stay to join a spouse or another qualifying family member, review the appropriate family category instead of forcing a long-term plan into a short tourist itinerary.

A holiday with Bangkok and Phuket: return and open-jaw options

You can describe the same holiday in different ways:

Planned holiday Travel arrangement to consider Detail that needs attention
Bangkok only, then home Return booking through the same Thai airport Arrival, hotel nights and departure should fit together.
Bangkok followed by Phuket, then Bangkok and home International return plus the required domestic travel Leave a workable connection before the international flight.
Arrive in Bangkok and fly home from Phuket Open-jaw or multi-city itinerary Explain how you travel between Bangkok and Phuket.
Thailand followed by a genuine visit elsewhere Arrival flight plus onward departure Check permission to enter the next country.

These are planning examples, not statements that a particular flight operates on your dates. Choose available services and disclose all relevant sectors.

Tourism, recreation and business events are not interchangeable labels

Some visitors combine sightseeing with a cooking course, Muay Thai activity, exhibition or conference. The reservation should follow the dates of the main activity, while the visa category should follow its actual nature and the mission’s instructions.

A short recreational lesson, a formal educational programme, a paid assignment and a professional conference can lead to different document requirements. An attractive tourist itinerary does not resolve the category question. If a host organisation supplies an invitation or approval, use it when deciding when to arrive and depart.

“Visitor visa” and “visit visa” are common search terms for holiday and private-visit travel. Use the official category appropriate to your activities when completing the application and requesting supporting reservations.

Leaving Thailand by land or sea: do not invent a flight

If you genuinely intend to leave by an international bus, train or boat, ask what evidence the mission and airline will accept. A domestic journey within Thailand does not establish departure from the country.

The Royal Thai Embassy in Oslo’s exemption guidance refers to confirmed air, train, bus or boat tickets for planned departure within the relevant exemption period. That is useful guidance for its audience, not a promise that every mission or airline accepts every form of evidence.

Describe the actual international crossing, date and next destination. If satisfactory overland evidence is unavailable, resolve that issue before departure. Purchasing a flight reservation for a journey you do not intend to make is not a substitute for understanding the applicable conditions.

Read the mission’s wording before choosing a reservation service

Thai missions do not all use the same wording. A checklist may request an itinerary, a flight reservation, an airline confirmation or a ticket paid in full. It may also specify who must issue the document.

Two official examples show why this matters:

  • The Thai Embassy in Abuja lists a confirmed round-trip flight itinerary or travel reservation among its application requirements.
  • The Thai Embassy in Mexico City specifies airline or flight-booking-platform confirmations and states that travel-agency-issued flight documents are not accepted.

A verifiable PNR and an acceptable document issuer are separate requirements. If your mission restricts agency documents, establish whether an airline-issued confirmation from the actual booking will satisfy it before ordering. Do not assume that an agency-branded PDF becomes acceptable simply because a booking can be retrieved online.

Likewise, a request for a paid ticket cannot be met by relabelling an unpaid hold. Ask the mission to clarify ambiguous wording and retain its response with your application notes.

What must a flight reservation for Thailand visa application show?

Think of the itinerary as a set of answers about the proposed journey. The following checks help you assess the document, while any additional requirement comes from your own checklist.

Who is travelling?

The passenger name should match the passport used for the application. Give the issuer all required given names and the correct surname. If the reservation system combines names or removes spaces, confirm that the underlying record is correct rather than changing the PDF yourself.

Provide nationality, date of birth and passport information where the booking or visa process requires them. A passport number is not universally printed on an airline itinerary, and its absence alone does not establish that a reservation is invalid. Where a mission specifically requests it, arrange an appropriate issuer-generated document or supporting record.

Which booking can be checked?

Obtain the airline booking reference needed to retrieve the reservation. Your BRFV order number, an agency reference and a carrier’s record locator may be different identifiers.

A reference printed on a document is useful only if it relates to the genuine booking being described. Ask for the verification method and the correct name format, particularly where several airlines operate the journey.

Where does every sector begin and end?

The record should identify departure and arrival airports, including connections. A city name on its own can conceal an airport change.

Show the journey from your real starting point to Thailand and the relevant return or onward travel. A connecting flight into Bangkok without the preceding international sector may leave the application reader unable to understand how the journey begins.

When will the traveller arrive and depart?

Check local departure and arrival dates, times, flight numbers and airlines. Overnight flights can arrive the day after departure. Your first hotel night, host’s invitation and application arrival date should reflect the Thai landing date.

Where the itinerary includes more than one visit, separate the dates of each stay rather than treating the whole overseas trip as uninterrupted time in Thailand.

What is the live reservation status?

Ask whether the flights are held, confirmed, waitlisted, cancelled or ticketed. A reservation confirmation does not by itself establish that an e-ticket has been issued.

Choose a legitimate airline operating a feasible route. Brand recognition can make checking straightforward, but a famous airline is not a universal Thai visa requirement. The important questions are authenticity, the correct travel details and acceptance under your checklist.

Until when can it be verified?

Get the booking’s expiry date and time, including the time zone. Keep this separate from the future flight date. The PDF may remain in your inbox after the airline record has expired.

Ask what support is available if the application remains pending. An unknown visa-processing period cannot be covered by assuming that a short reservation will renew itself.

Who can correct an error?

Keep the issuer’s contact details and original confirmation. Request corrections through the provider so the document and airline record remain consistent. Editing a passenger name, date, status or reference on your own can leave the two records describing different journeys.

A Thailand itinerary example: follow the landing date through the whole visit

Consider an illustrative holiday with arrival in Bangkok on 10 December 2026 and departure from Phuket on 20 December 2026. This is eleven calendar dates including arrival and departure, with ten accommodation nights if the traveller checks in on the 10th and checks out on the 20th.

Part of the plan Illustrative dates What the supporting records should explain
International arrival Land in Bangkok on 10 December Use the Thai arrival date on the application.
Bangkok accommodation Check in 10 December; check out 14 December Four nights before moving to the next destination.
Travel to Phuket 14 December Show the flight if booked, or explain the intended alternative transfer.
Phuket accommodation Check in 14 December; check out 20 December Six nights covering the remainder of the visit.
International departure Leave Phuket on 20 December Include subsequent connections and the final destination.

The dates demonstrate consistency; they are not live availability or a reservation sample. Actual airlines, flight numbers, connection times and booking references must come from a real booking.

Bangkok’s BKK and DMK airports need different planning

Airports of Thailand identifies Suvarnabhumi as BKK, Don Mueang as DMK and Phuket as HKT. A booking arriving at BKK and continuing from DMK involves different airports.

Do not treat that transfer as a walk between gates. Consider immigration, baggage collection, ground transport and the next airline’s check-in deadline. Ask the relevant carriers about realistic timing and any assistance available.

For a passenger continuing internationally, an airport change also raises an entry-permission question. Confirm that the traveller can enter Thailand to make the transfer; airside transit assumptions are insufficient.

Separate tickets can change what a connection involves

If the Thai domestic flight is separate from the international booking, confirm whether baggage can be checked through and what happens after a delayed arrival. The international reservation does not automatically protect a separately booked connection.

A hotel night near the arrival airport can sometimes make the plan more realistic than a tight same-day transfer. Choose what genuinely suits the trip and show the accommodation accordingly.

For travel through another country before reaching Thailand, check that country’s transit or entry conditions for your passport. Approval of a Thai visa does not grant permission to enter a connecting country.

Thailand Flight Reservation Samples: Three Routes Explained

The following samples illustrate how airline reservation documents display Thailand-related journeys, including direct flights, connecting sectors and return travel. They show where to find the passenger details, booking reference, airlines, travel dates and route information. The supplied images contain past travel dates; use them as examples of layout and routing when preparing a new reservation request.

Sample 1: Bangkok-New York via Singapore and Frankfurt

Outbound route: Bangkok → Singapore → Frankfurt → New York.

Return route: New York → Singapore → Bangkok.

This Singapore Airlines sample begins and ends in Bangkok. On the outward journey, the Singapore-New York flight entry includes an intermediate stop in Frankfurt. The return shows New York to Singapore followed by a separate connection to Bangkok, without a Frankfurt stop listed.

The document demonstrates why every stop matters when reading a long-haul itinerary. A single flight entry can contain an intermediate stop, while the return can follow a different routing. Because this example starts in Thailand, a customer departing from the USA should request a new itinerary beginning at their actual US departure airport.

proof-of-onward-flight-sample-for-thailand-visa

Sample 2: Mumbai-Bangkok-Mumbai with Thai Airways

Outbound route: Mumbai → Bangkok Suvarnabhumi.

Return route: Bangkok Suvarnabhumi → Mumbai.

This sample shows a direct round-trip itinerary with Thai Airways International. Both the journey into Thailand and the return to India are displayed, making the proposed visit easy to follow.

The outward flight leaves Mumbai late at night and reaches Bangkok the following morning. That date change is useful to notice when matching an itinerary with hotel check-in, an invitation or the arrival date entered on an application. For a similar booking, provide the actual passenger details and intended visit dates, then follow the travel-evidence requirements applicable to your case.

Sample 3: Lagos-Bangkok via Cairo and Abu Dhabi

Outbound route: Lagos → Cairo → Abu Dhabi → Bangkok.

Return sector visible in the image: Bangkok → Abu Dhabi.

The sample lists EgyptAir flight numbers, with the Cairo-Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi-Bangkok and displayed Bangkok-Abu Dhabi sectors identified as operated by Etihad Airways. It illustrates how a connecting itinerary can show both the marketing airline and a different operating carrier.

Read all the sectors together to understand the journey from Nigeria to Thailand. The supplied image ends after the Bangkok-Abu Dhabi return sector, so the remaining homeward connections are not visible. Where a complete return itinerary is required, obtain the additional sectors rather than treating this page alone as the full journey back to Lagos.

These samples do not limit where you can book

BRFV’s reservation services extend beyond the countries and routes illustrated here. Customers can request Thailand flight itineraries from departure points worldwide, including Pakistan, Morocco, China, Russia, the Philippines, Canada, the UK, Australia and the Schengen countries, as well as India, Nigeria and the USA.

Provide your actual starting airport, destination and travel dates. The available airline, routing and reservation format depend on the requested journey, booking availability and the responsible Thai mission’s document requirements.

BRFV prices: decide whether your file needs flights, accommodation or both

Booking Reservation for Visa advertises the following starting service prices. These are document-reservation fees, separate from the airfare, the hotel stay and government visa charges.

BRFV service Advertised price Appropriate use
Flight Reservation US$15 per person Where the checklist accepts the supplied flight-reservation evidence.
Hotel Booking US$15 per person Where accommodation reservations are needed.
Flight + Hotel US$24 per person Where both records are needed for the same travel plan.

Prices were checked against BRFV’s published plans on 6 November 2026. Review the actual checkout total. The flight form displays a US$3 multiple-city supplement; confirm how it applies to your selection. Payment-provider conversion charges may affect the amount billed in another currency.

Flight Reservation: an itinerary matched to your Thailand journey

Use the BRFV Flight Reservation service when your mission accepts the relevant reservation format. The form supports one-way, round-trip and multiple-city requests, with space for additional preferences and application details.

Explain the whole journey, including domestic sectors or a departure from a different Thai city. Airline selection depends on the route, availability and the document you need to obtain.

Arrange your Thailand flight reservation after checking the mission’s accepted issuer and ticket-status requirements.

Hotel Booking: accommodation that follows the flight dates

The BRFV Hotel Booking service provides accommodation reservations for application use. Give the actual destination sequence and check-in and check-out dates.

For Bangkok followed by Phuket, specify both stays. Where you will live with a host, university or employer, first establish which accommodation evidence is appropriate. A hotel reservation should represent an intended stay, and later accommodation arrangements must be checked before travelling.

Use the supplied property contact details to check the guest names, dates and reservation status with the hotel by phone or email. A flight PNR lookup does not verify the accommodation record.

Request your Thailand hotel booking for the nights and locations your application actually describes.

Flight + Hotel: prepare the journey and nights together

The BRFV Flight + Hotel service can be useful when the application needs both. Supply one agreed travel plan so the flight arrival, destination changes and hotel dates can be prepared consistently.

Check each confirmation independently. A matching package still needs an acceptable flight document and suitable accommodation evidence.

Book Thailand flights and hotels together once your route and accommodation pattern are settled.

how-to-generate-both-flight-and-hotel-tickets-for-thailand-visa

When the visa decision takes longer than the reservation

BRFV’s published validity terms advertise 14-day validity for flight and hotel reservations. For flights, an extension to up to 21 days in total is available on request and subject to airline approval. Confirm the individual booking’s expiry and any extension outcome.

The practical difficulty is that embassy processing is measured separately. For example, Abuja’s July 2026 guidance gives 15 business days, with some cases taking four to six weeks. A fourteen-calendar-day reservation will not cover either period simply because it was ordered at submission.

Prepare the application early enough for the mission’s timetable, then coordinate reservation activation with the point at which the document is needed. Leave time to check the result. If the hold is nearing expiry while the case is pending, contact the issuer and follow the mission’s instructions about updated evidence.

If an extension requires reactivation, ask whether there will be a gap in availability. Obtain the current status in writing. Do not describe a lapsed record as continuously active, and do not assume the fare or seats will remain available for later ticketing.

What if the application or travel dates change?

Before submission, have the issuer update the booking and review every connected record: accommodation, invitation, leave and any connecting flights. After submission, follow the mission’s procedure for changes or requested documents.

If your original travel dates pass while the decision is pending, reassess the whole journey. Replacing only the date on the reservation can leave old hotel nights and an expired invitation in the application.

For the eventual trip, use the travel permissions granted and an issued airline ticket. A temporary reservation intended for the application does not remain your boarding document after its hold expires.

Study, work and longer stays: let the supporting approval set the arrival plan

Tourist return bookings are not a universal model for every Thai visa. For the categories below, the practical suggestions explain how to organise travel; the official category requirements and individual mission instructions determine what must be submitted.

Education: flight reservations for ED and ED Plus applications

For a student, the arrival flight should support enrolment, orientation and access to accommodation. Ask the institution when you should arrive, including any reporting or registration date. A flight arriving after compulsory orientation can undermine an otherwise orderly plan.

Your flight reservation for a Thailand student visa should therefore identify the intended arrival airport and realistic onward travel to the institution. If the university is outside Bangkok, explain that connection. Coordinate accompanying family members separately because their immigration categories may differ.

ED and ED Plus should not be treated as identical for later travel. The Thai Embassy in Budapest distinguishes ED Plus for eligible degree-level study and explains its re-entry arrangements during study. Before booking a mid-course trip overseas, check the permission attached to your actual status.

If the mission needs only an arrival itinerary, follow that instruction. If it also requests departure evidence, provide the required format. Do not insert a short tourist return date that contradicts a genuine academic programme.

Employment and teaching: flight reservations for Non-Immigrant B

For employment, including teaching under the relevant work route, proposed arrival should follow the employer’s instructions and fit the approval process. An invitation, contract start and expected arrival should describe a workable sequence.

Request a one-way or return arrangement according to the actual checklist and employment plan. The fact that a job lasts longer than a holiday does not automatically settle whether an outward reservation is required.

Coordinate any pre-employment appointments and onward travel to the work location. If the employer changes the start date, update the reservation through the issuer and check whether the visa application also needs an explanation.

The Thai Embassy in Oslo’s work and business guidance is an official starting point for its jurisdiction. The booking supports travel planning; work permission and employer documentation require their own assessment.

Business meetings, exhibitions and conferences: reserve around the event

A brief business itinerary should account for the meeting dates, arrival preparation and departure after the final commitment. If you include a private holiday afterwards, make that addition visible in the proposed schedule and accommodation.

The applicable visa can depend on who organises the event and what you will do. Abuja’s current guidance directs conference and seminar applicants towards a Non-Immigrant category. Other official listings distinguish certain supported MICE visits and institutional activities. Confirm the classification before placing the order.

For a multi-country business trip, show the onward sector leaving Thailand rather than replacing it with an artificial journey home. Keep the employer’s travel authorisation and host invitation consistent with the chosen route.

Joining family and accompanying dependants: Non-Immigrant O

For a longer family stay under an appropriate Non-Immigrant O route, explain the intended move or visit alongside the qualifying relationship and sponsor’s position. A spouse joining family for an extended period may have a different travel pattern from a relative making a two-week holiday visit.

Prepare a passenger-by-passenger schedule. A parent may arrive first, while a spouse and child join later; the documents should show that arrangement clearly. Where travellers share flights, check every name and sector rather than assuming a group reservation contains identical travel for everyone.

For children, follow the mission’s birth-certificate, custody and consent requirements where applicable. A shared flight booking does not replace them. Use the official e-Visa category directory to identify the relevant family purpose before deciding which travel evidence to obtain.

Destination Thailand Visa: workcation, approved activities and dependants

The DTV covers qualifying workcation applicants, specified Thai activities and eligible dependants. The Thai Embassy in Washington’s DTV page describes its five-year visa validity and the principal purposes.

For flight planning, focus on the intended entry being assessed. Remote workers should use dates consistent with their genuine relocation or workcation plan. Activity participants should align arrival with the course, hospital or organising institution. Dependants should coordinate their flights with the principal applicant where that reflects the intended journey.

Do not book five years of speculative travel to represent a five-year visa. Likewise, do not assume a tourist-style return reservation is compulsory where the current DTV checklist does not request one.

DTV documents also changed in 2026. The Thai Embassy in Moscow’s notice describes revised residence and criminal-record evidence effective from 31 August 2026. Check the live application requirements before paying for optional travel documents.

Retirement: O, O-A and O-X arrival arrangements

A retirement journey should reflect a genuine intended stay, rather than imitate a short sightseeing visit. Coordinate the arrival date with accommodation and any insurance period or other date-sensitive evidence required for the category.

The Thai Consulate-General in Los Angeles lists an itinerary showing travel from the USA to Thailand for its O-A and O-X applications. This demonstrates why an arrival itinerary can be relevant without assuming that every retirement applicant must buy a short return booking.

Check eligibility for the specific retirement route before ordering. Categories differ in nationality, residence, financial and other conditions. If you already hold permission to stay and are returning after an overseas visit, check your visa or re-entry position before selecting the flight.

Long-Term Resident Visa: arrange travel around endorsement and issuance

The Board of Investment’s LTR programme includes routes for Wealthy Global Citizens, Wealthy Pensioners, Work-from-Thailand Professionals and Highly Skilled Professionals, with eligible dependants.

The travel decision should follow the stage reached in the application. Qualification endorsement, visa issuance and arrival are distinct events. If an itinerary is requested, select a date consistent with the expected issuance arrangements and any deadline actually communicated to you.

BOI’s LTR issuance guidance explains the steps after endorsement and the applicable endorsement window. Avoid treating a proposed flight date as evidence that the endorsement or visa has already been granted.

Investment and entrepreneurial travel: IB and SMART

For the relevant Non-Immigrant IB investment route, SMART or another applicable investment-related category, obtain the programme’s current instructions before committing to arrival dates. Coordinate travel with endorsement, company or project requirements and any scheduled issuance appointment.

Use the official SMART Visa programme for current categories. Historical embassy summaries may continue to display older programme labels. Your flight itinerary should describe travel under the route that is currently available and applicable to you.

Where several founders or dependants travel together, confirm who has approval and who is still awaiting a decision. One person’s endorsement does not settle the travel permissions of the rest of the group.

Medical treatment: MT, relevant Non-Immigrant O and other applicable routes

For treatment travel, reserve around the hospital’s appointment and expected recovery plan. The appropriate route can depend on treatment length and circumstances. The Los Angeles medical Tourist Visa guidance includes flights into and out of Thailand, while other medical categories have their own requirements.

Ask the treating institution about a realistic departure date. If the date is uncertain, discuss suitable ticket flexibility and the evidence the mission expects. A temporary booking does not guarantee future medical clearance to fly or airline assistance.

An accompanying relative should prepare their own correct immigration and travel evidence. Keep the companion’s arrival and departure compatible with the support they will actually provide.

Research, religious work, volunteering, media and official assignments

These journeys need the relevant organisation’s schedule and supporting permissions to guide the flight plan. Thailand’s official listings include research, religious, media, official and other Non-Immigrant purposes; use the New Delhi category overview as a reference and then follow the competent mission’s checklist.

Purpose Category reference How to organise the flight evidence
Scientific research or an approved institutional project Non-Immigrant RS Align arrival with the host institution’s permission and project dates.
Religious or missionary activity R or R-A, as applicable Follow the sponsoring body’s approved programme.
Volunteering under the relevant route Relevant Non-Immigrant O purpose Use the genuine assignment dates and required host documentation.
Journalism, media work or film production Non-Immigrant M Fit the itinerary to the authorised assignment and production schedule.
Diplomatic, official or courtesy travel D, F or the applicable courtesy category Follow the sending authority’s instructions, official communication and applicable passport category.

Where a team is involved, check whether members enter and leave together. An itinerary for the lead applicant cannot stand in for each participant’s travel record.

Thailand Privilege and permanent-residence-related travel

For a Thailand Privilege journey under the applicable Privilege Entry (PE) arrangements, coordinate the proposed arrival with the programme’s visa and membership instructions. The reservation supports travel arrangements; it does not establish membership or immigration eligibility.

Permanent residence is a separate immigration process. If you are already a Thai permanent resident planning an overseas trip, check the endorsement and re-entry documentation relevant to your residence before departure. The Thai government’s residence endorsement guidance describes documentation for that process.

If you are pursuing residence from another status, follow the Immigration Bureau’s current application arrangements. Buying a flight reservation is not an immigration pathway in itself.

thailand-visa-types-you-could-attached-flight-reservation-with-application

Transiting through Thailand: check the onward document before buying a hold

For transit, the immediate onward journey is central. Check whether the connection stays airside, whether baggage must be collected, whether terminals or airports change and whether separate tickets require entry into Thailand.

The Thai Embassy in Oslo’s Transit Visa checklist expressly requests an onward air ticket paid in full. An unpaid reservation would not meet that published requirement. Its transit information distinguishes TS for transit, S for qualifying sports participation and C for crew purposes.

For another mission, read the corresponding checklist rather than importing Oslo’s requirements automatically. Sports travellers should align flights with the event, and crew should coordinate the arrival or departure record with their operating organisation.

A person entitled to a tourism exemption should still verify whether it applies to the activity they intend to undertake. A label such as “transit” does not settle entry conditions on its own.

Thailand flight reservations from your country: what changes in practice?

BRFV accepts worldwide reservation enquiries, but the departure country is only one part of the application. The guidance below distinguishes passport entitlement, mission routing and the journey shown on the booking. Any routes mentioned are illustrative and remain subject to airline availability and transit conditions.

India: check whether the journey needs a visa application at all

The Thai Embassy in New Delhi confirms a 30-day tourism exemption for Indian ordinary passport holders under the arrangements effective from 15 September 2026. A qualifying short holiday therefore has a different document task from study, employment or a longer visit.

If an advance visa is required, use Thai e-Visa and the Thai mission with jurisdiction. Supply the real Indian departure airport and Thai arrival city when ordering. Include return or onward travel where required; departure evidence needed for travelling should meet the applicable travel-day conditions.

Russia: use the bilateral rule and a realistic current route

Moscow’s revised exemption notice states that ordinary Russian passport holders retain an exemption for up to 30 days under the bilateral agreement after the previous 60-day scheme ends.

For a category requiring a visa, follow the Moscow mission’s current application guidance and the e-Visa system. Request a route that can actually operate on the intended dates. Check connections, transit permissions and the final departure from Thailand rather than relying on an old example itinerary.

China: separate a short exempt visit from study or work

The Royal Thai Embassy in Beijing confirms that qualifying Chinese ordinary and public-affairs passport holders continue to have a bilateral exemption of up to 30 days from 15 September 2026.

That does not mean every purpose of travel uses the exemption. For an appropriate advance-visa application, check the responsible Thai mission in China. Your itinerary should connect the actual Chinese departure city with the Thai destination, and an onward trip should include the genuine destination after Thailand. Keep passport-name transliteration consistent across the application and booking.

Morocco: replace older exemption assumptions with a current passport check

Morocco was included in the former 60-day scheme but is absent from the replacement 30-day tourism list. In light of the scheme’s revocation, ordinary Moroccan passport holders should plan for an advance visa unless the official passport checker confirms another applicable entitlement. This conclusion follows from the revised lists, rather than from the older exemption banner still visible on some pages.

The Thai Embassy in Rabat’s e-Visa instructions cover applicants residing in Morocco, Mauritania and Tunisia. For a Moroccan departure, show the full journey to Thailand and the required return or onward routing, including connecting airports.

Pakistan: organise the visa file before activating the reservation

Pakistani ordinary passport holders planning tourism should check the advance-visa requirements and apply through the competent Thai mission. Islamabad’s e-Visa announcement introduced online applications for people currently in Pakistan and Afghanistan from January 2025. Check current local instructions for payment and supporting documents.

For a Lahore, Karachi or Islamabad departure, specify your actual airport and each required connection. Set the reservation date around the application’s document need, leaving enough time to review names and travel dates before submission.

Nigeria: account for the additional documents and processing interval

Abuja’s July 2026 requirements include a confirmed round-trip itinerary or travel reservation and identify NDLEA and POSSAP clearance evidence for Nigerian passport holders.

Complete the broader visa file before ordering a time-limited booking. A reservation cannot compensate for missing required clearances. Use the Abuja e-Visa jurisdiction guidance to confirm whether the mission can consider your application from your present country. Explain all flights from the actual starting point to Thailand and back.

The Philippines: holiday travel and long-stay applications need different preparation

Philippine ordinary passports appear on the replacement 30-day tourism exemption list. For a purpose or duration requiring a visa, consult the Royal Thai Embassy in Manila and its e-Visa instructions.

For a short holiday, prepare the return or onward evidence applicable to your journey. For education or employment, coordinate the proposed arrival with the institution or employer. Tell the reservation provider your actual departure airport rather than assuming all Philippine journeys start in Manila.

USA: nationality and the applicant’s state of residence both matter

US ordinary passport holders have access to the replacement 30-day tourism exemption subject to its conditions. People living in the USA with another passport should check their own entitlement.

For an advance visa, the Thai Embassy in Washington’s visa information explains the US mission jurisdictions. Select the responsible embassy or consulate and follow its checklist. Long-haul connections and date changes deserve attention: the day you leave the USA may differ from the day you arrive in Thailand.

Canada: use your actual Canadian origin and qualifying residence

Canadian ordinary passports are included in the 30-day tourism exemption list. Where a visa is needed, begin with the Thai Embassy in Ottawa’s visa information and confirm the appropriate jurisdiction through the application system.

Supply the genuine departure airport, particularly where a domestic Canadian sector precedes the international flight. Check the complete route on the return as well. Canadian residence alone does not establish a Canadian passport entitlement for a resident travelling on another country’s document.

UK: show the real journey from the place where you qualify to apply

British ordinary passports are on the 30-day tourism exemption list. For an advance application, follow the Royal Thai Embassy in London and the official e-Visa system for your circumstances.

London’s category-specific instructions can require evidence from the qualifying UK or Irish origin and the onward journey. If you live in Britain but intend to start the Thailand trip elsewhere, explain that situation accurately and check what the mission expects. Do not replace the real starting point with a more convenient-looking route.

Australia: align the arrival with the holiday, semester or relocation

Australian ordinary passport holders appear on the 30-day tourism exemption list. For a visa application, the Thai Embassy in Canberra provides official guidance; confirm the mission responsible for your location and category.

A holiday return, a student arrival and a retirement relocation call for different planning. Select the correct Australian origin and Thai destination, include connections and check the Thai landing date against accommodation access. A confirmed route should describe the purpose you have declared.

Applying from the Schengen area: include every country, but use Thai rules

Being in Schengen does not make a Thailand application a Schengen visa application. The Thai mission and Thai e-Visa rules determine the relevant evidence. A Schengen residence permit or short-stay visa also does not confer the Thailand entry entitlement of the issuing country’s passport.

The following 29 Schengen countries are included in this worldwide booking guidance. Their ordinary passports appear on Thailand’s replacement 30-day tourism exemption list; longer stays and other purposes require the appropriate separate assessment.

Country Country Country
Austria Belgium Bulgaria
Croatia Czechia Denmark
Estonia Finland France
Germany Greece Hungary
Iceland Italy Latvia
Liechtenstein Lithuania Luxembourg
Malta Netherlands Norway
Poland Portugal Romania
Slovakia Slovenia Spain
Sweden Switzerland —

Check the current official 30-day passport list and, if you need a visa, identify the responsible Thai mission through the Thai mission directory and e-Visa portal. Some countries are covered by an accredited mission elsewhere; the nearest honorary consulate is not automatically the office processing your e-Visa.

For a flight beginning in Paris, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Rome, Madrid, Zurich, Warsaw or another European airport, request the journey you genuinely intend to take. If you must return to a country where you hold residence, check that your residence and re-entry documents remain usable on the return date.

For a non-exempt passport holder staying briefly in Schengen, establish where you may apply before ordering a Thailand reservation. A holiday in Europe should not be treated as proof that any Thai mission there can accept the application.

Worldwide ordering beyond the main countries

The countries discussed above do not limit BRFV’s service enquiries. Customers elsewhere should use the same sequence: check passport entitlement, identify the competent mission, read the document requirement and then request the actual route.

Region Examples of departure or residence countries Useful planning focus
Other South Asian origins Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Maldives, Afghanistan Confirm the passport-specific entry route and mission jurisdiction.
Southeast and East Asia Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Japan, South Korea, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar Check the applicable exemption or visa rule and any onward international sector.
Gulf and Middle East UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Türkiye, Jordan Distinguish residence permission from passport nationality.
Other African origins Egypt, Kenya, Ghana, South Africa, Tunisia, Algeria, Cameroon, Ethiopia Establish the mission covering the place of application and additional nationality requirements.
Americas beyond the USA and Canada Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Colombia, other Caribbean and Central American countries Check bilateral provisions or advance-visa needs rather than assuming one regional rule.
Oceania beyond Australia New Zealand, Fiji, other Pacific origins Review long-haul connections, arrival dates and onward travel.
Other European and Eurasian origins Ireland, Cyprus, Albania, Serbia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and others Use the exact passport checker; EU, Schengen and bilateral arrangements are different questions.

These are service-planning examples, not an exemption list. The official checker and mission instructions remain necessary for countries named here and for any country not individually listed.

Check the delivered booking in the airline’s own system

Verification should establish what is in the live record. It cannot change an unacceptable document format into an acceptable one, or an unpaid hold into a paid ticket.

  1. Open the relevant airline’s official website or app and find Manage Booking, My Trips or the equivalent function.
  2. Enter the airline reference and passenger surname exactly as required. Obtain a separate carrier reference from the issuer if necessary.
  3. Compare the traveller, dates, airports, flight numbers and sectors against the confirmation you received.
  4. Check the status and any ticketing deadline. Ask the issuer to explain information that is unclear.
  5. Check additional carriers or codeshare references where needed, then retain the original confirmation and expiry details.

For example, Thai Airways’ My Trips uses a booking reference or ticket number with the passenger’s last name. Other airlines may provide different access or management options for agency-created reservations.

If the PNR cannot be retrieved

First confirm the airline, reference and name format. The order number on a payment receipt may not be the carrier reference. An operating airline and marketing airline may also use different references.

If those details are correct, ask the issuer to investigate the record and provide a clear explanation. The booking may have expired, changed status or require another verification channel. Do not assume that an attractive PDF proves the record remains active.

If the mission needs a current booking, resolve the issue or obtain suitable updated evidence before relying on it. Keep booking references and personal details private when discussing problems online.

How to Get a Flight Reservation for Thailand Visa from BRFV

Once you know which travel documents your Thai mission accepts, follow these steps to request a flight reservation, hotel booking or combined package through Booking Reservation for Visa.

Step 1: Open BRFV and select your reservation service

Visit bookingreservationforvisa.com and choose Flight Reservation, Hotel Booking or Flight + Hotel. Select the service your application needs. If you already have suitable accommodation evidence, a flight-only request may be sufficient.

Step 2: Enter the travellers’ details

Select the number of travellers and enter each person’s first and last names as shown in their passport. Add a working email address and telephone number. Check every passenger separately, particularly when ordering for a family or group.

Step 3: Describe the flights you want reserved

On the flight reservation form, select One Way, Round Trip or Multiple Cities, as appropriate. Provide the departure city or airport, Thai destination and travel dates, plus the return or onward journey where needed.

Use the additional-details field to explain connections, a different departure airport in Thailand or other routing preferences. Request a journey consistent with your actual plans and visa category.

Step 4: State the application and delivery requirements

Identify the Thai embassy or consulate handling your application and specify when you need the itinerary. Include the interview date and time zone if an interview applies. Tell BRFV about any special document-issuer or ticket-status requirement before paying, so suitability can be established.

Step 5: Add accommodation details if needed

For a hotel or combined order, provide the Thai destinations, guest details and check-in and check-out dates. List separate stays if the trip includes more than one city. Build the nights around your arrival in Thailand and movement between destinations.

Step 6: Review the order and complete payment

Check names, airports, dates, selected services and the final price. Review any multiple-city supplement and confirm delivery and reservation-expiry arrangements. Read the applicable terms, then complete payment through the website’s checkout using an available payment method.

Step 7: Receive the reservation documents by email

BRFV advertises delivery within one to two hours after order confirmation. Confirm timing for urgent or unusual requests. Check your inbox and spam folder, then contact support if the documents have not arrived within the agreed period.

Step 8: Verify the bookings before submitting them

Retrieve the flight through the airline’s official Manage Booking facility using the supplied airline reference and passenger surname. Compare the live record with the emailed itinerary. For hotel bookings, verify the guest details, dates and status through the supplied verification channel.

Ask BRFV to correct any discrepancy before submission. Keep the expiry details and upload the appropriate confirmations with your Thailand visa application where the mission accepts them. An unpaid reservation does not replace a fully paid ticket when one is specifically required.

At departure: use the confirmed travel plan and complete the arrival formalities

After approval, check the visa’s actual details and arrange the issued tickets and accommodation you will use. Reconfirm the route, connections and permission to enter any onward country. If your airline requests return or onward evidence, meet its actual conditions rather than assuming the application reservation remains sufficient.

Complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card, where required, within the official submission window before arrival. The Immigration Bureau’s TDAC guide describes the travel and accommodation information needed and how to update it before travelling. TDAC is an arrival form, separate from the visa and airline ticket.

Use the real flight and accommodation details for the eventual journey. If the trip changes after the application, keep the travel-day information current and follow any relevant instruction from the mission or Immigration Bureau.

Questions travellers ask before ordering a Thailand itinerary

Is a flight reservation required for every Thailand visa?

Requirements vary by category and mission. Many tourist checklists request entry and departure travel evidence, while long-stay and specialist categories may ask for different records. Read the checklist for your application.

Can I apply for a Thailand visa without paying the full airfare?

Where the mission accepts an unpaid reservation in the supplied format, a genuine booking can support the application. A checklist requiring an issued or fully paid ticket needs that specific evidence.

Is a dummy ticket the same as a verifiable flight reservation?

“Dummy ticket” is an informal search term used for different products. Establish whether you receive a genuine airline record, a fare quotation or merely a sample. A fabricated itinerary is unsuitable for submission.

How much is BRFV’s Thailand flight reservation?

The advertised starting fee is US$15 per person. Review the final price for your journey and any multiple-city supplement. The service fee does not purchase the airfare.

How long does the reservation stay valid?

BRFV advertises fourteen days. Use the expiry confirmed for your booking and check its live status when needed. Saving the PDF does not prolong the airline record.

Can the reservation be extended?

BRFV says an extension to up to twenty-one days in total may be requested, subject to airline approval. Request it before expiry and obtain confirmation; it is not an automatic renewal.

Will a fourteen-day booking cover the visa-processing period?

It may not. Business-day processing estimates can exceed a fourteen-calendar-day hold, and additional checks can take longer. Coordinate with the issuer and follow the mission’s instructions for current evidence.

Must the reservation show a passport number?

The passenger name must be accurate, and any specifically requested identity details should be supplied. Passport numbers are not universally printed on airline itineraries. Have the issuer handle any required addition rather than editing the document.

Can I show a one-way itinerary for a student or work visa?

Use a one-way itinerary where it reflects the plan and meets the relevant checklist. Some applications require additional departure evidence. The institution or employer’s dates should remain consistent with the journey.

Do Indian tourists always need a Thai visa application?

Indian ordinary passports qualify for the current 30-day tourism exemption subject to its conditions. Study, employment, other purposes or a longer stay require separate assessment. Departure evidence for travelling can still matter.

Should Russian or Chinese travellers use the old 60-day rule?

No. The revised official guidance describes relevant 30-day bilateral arrangements for qualifying Russian and Chinese passports. Check the purpose and conditions before planning a longer stay.

What should Moroccan travellers check first?

Check the official passport eligibility result and current mission instructions. Do not rely on the revoked 60-day scheme or an older exemption banner when planning the application and travel documents.

Can a Schengen visa replace a Thai visa?

A Schengen visa does not itself grant permission to enter Thailand. Thailand’s conditions depend on your passport, purpose and circumstances. Your European location also needs to meet the responsible mission’s jurisdiction rules.

Can I leave Thailand for another country instead of returning home?

An onward journey may fit a genuine multi-country trip. Show the required departure evidence and establish that you can enter the next destination. Follow any mission-specific requirement for the complete itinerary.

Does a domestic flight from Bangkok to Phuket prove onward departure?

It shows travel inside Thailand. Departure evidence must identify the journey out of the country where that is required. Include the international exit separately.

Will changing from BKK to DMK affect my itinerary?

Yes. They are different airports. Plan for entry formalities, baggage, ground transport and the next check-in deadline, and confirm that you have the permission needed to make the transfer.

Can I use BRFV documents when a mission rejects agency itineraries?

Check the exact issuer requirement before ordering. A verifiable booking does not override a restriction on agency-issued documents. Establish whether the required airline-issued confirmation is obtainable and acceptable.

Is a hotel booking necessary if I am staying with relatives?

Use the host evidence accepted by the mission, which may include an invitation and supporting host records. Do not add an unrelated hotel reservation that conflicts with the stay described in the application.

Can one family booking cover everyone’s application?

A shared record may show several travellers, but each application needs the appropriate supporting evidence. Check every passenger’s route, dates and name, alongside any separate child or family requirements.

Do I have to fly on the temporary reservation after approval?

Confirm the mission’s conditions and arrange the issued ticket for your actual journey. Temporary holds can expire and future fares can change. Keep any required application updates and arrival information accurate.

Does a PNR guarantee visa approval?

No. It identifies a booking and helps with verification. Visa decisions involve the full application, while the airline and immigration authorities assess the documents relevant to travelling and entry.

Is the Thailand Digital Arrival Card part of the flight reservation?

No. TDAC is a separate arrival declaration completed through the official Immigration Bureau system where required. Use the details of the journey you will actually take.

Choose the reservation after the travel evidence is clear

A suitable flight reservation for Thailand visa application should make the intended journey easy to understand and meet the responsible mission’s document rules. Match the passenger, route and dates to the real purpose, check the live booking and plan for its expiry. Where reservations are accepted, BRFV offers flight, hotel and combined services to help prepare consistent travel evidence for customers worldwide.

Requirements and service terms can change. Check the official e-Visa result, competent mission’s current checklist and confirmed booking conditions for your case. BRFV is an independent reservation provider; visa approval and admission are decided by the Thai authorities.
